What Jesus was demonstrating in his miracles was not only God’s power to heal, but God’s desire to reach out and to touch the lives of his created children in meaningful and life changing ways and to restore to us what the world has stolen.
Purity of heart seems to require an intensity of purpose that is challenging in this world, which is filled with an abundance of other attractions and distractions – not to mention real demands of our time and attention. Yet, this truth stands as a challenge for us to consider what it is that we really value.
