As usual, Jesus likes to broaden our perspective so that we can develop a greater awareness of God in our everyday lives. In his famous Sermon on the Mount, he points out that there is a rich source of blessing to be found if we will simply look at things from God’s perspective…
I am asking God to search my heart and bring to the surface those spiritual longings and aspirations that are pleasing to Him – the ones that He wants to bless and develop. The ones that will reflect his light and glory into this sometimes dark and confusing world.
There are simply times when God must loose us from the relationships and activities from which we have derived our identity and sense of well-being. This is for our benefit, so that we can more deeply depend on the sureness of God’s character and love. He is faithful to us and has promised to never leave us or forsake us. He has promised to be with us in every circumstance of life.
