You are Invited to a Birthday Party
The days of waiting are over. With anticipation we come to celebrate the birth of Jesus. He is over 2000 years old in earth years – yet ageless and eternal in God.
As we celebrate his birth, will our minds be on the turkey in the oven, the guests coming for dinner, or presents yet unwrapped?
Or, will we find some way – some space in our overfull hearts – to truly worship? Will we once again be able to marvel at the miracle that God has loved us this much? Will we pause and let God touch our hearts afresh so that what we know so well will become new?
God, touch my heart so that I can see Jesus. Touch my heart with your Love once again. Refresh my spirit so that I can worship you as Wonderful, Almighty God – King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Everlasting!
You are Invited to Worship
This year, I will listen carefully to the words of the Christmas songs, trying to hear the voice of the person who penned the words – the one whose heart overflowed with loving worship when they created their enduring masterpiece. I will carefully treasure the words as I sing them.
I will sing them as a declaration of faith – of hope – of thankfulness.
I will sing them alongside those who are worshiping through their grief. I will worship with those who are rejoicing. Together we will lift holy hands up and we will worship the Lord Jesus Christ – for He is worthy to be praised!
God is worthy of our praise! O come, let us adore him.
You are Invited to Celebrate
The birth of Jesus is good news, after all. “Good news of Great Joy – which shall be to all people.”
Ode to Joy is one of my favorite “Christmas” hymns of all times. Whenever I sing these words or see this performed, I cannot help but feel that I am joined with others in a great concert of praise.
Ode to Joy - Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee
You are Invited to Life
He has come!
He has come as a light in the darkness to lead us into life – abundant, eternal, joyful – LIFE!
He has come…
- to heal the brokenhearted
- to set free those imprisoned by pain, shame, regret, guilt, and sin
- to restore hope and bring peace to our hearts
- to open eyes to the truth…
He has come!
He will come again!
Are you ready?
We have been invited by God to worship, to celebrate, and to life! He has invited us to a table of fellowship and intimacy. He has drawn us with cords of love. Will you accept the invitation that He is extending to you?
Diane, thank you for sharing the wisdom and depth of your faith with everyone this advent season. Thank you for being you, the loving and caring person you are. Merry Christmas to you and the family!
And…Happy Birthday Diane! May you hear those words whispered by the Holy Spirit, know the love which is carried on them deep in your own soul.
~Diane
